Try taking your kids to local high school athletic competitions.
Toddlers might not have the attention span to stay for the whole event,
but with cheap (or sometimes free) admission costs, it just might be worth it.
You also get to expose your child to sports/activities not normally seen on TV like gymnastics, volleyball and swimming.
"That's Not How It's Done"
Keep in mind that toddlers are learning and trying things out. If you present them with a game, like checkers, and all they want to do is stack the checkers up and then knock them down, it's OK.
They will have plenty of opportunities to play by the rules, so let them have fun now (unless they are trying to do something that can harm them).
Let The Kid Help
Have your child help you with chores around the house.
The overall process may take longer, but you are helping your child learn by doing activities with him.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
If you have extra plastic shopping bags, use them to stuff a beanbag, instead of using styrofoam peanuts.
